    I’ve recently returned to N scale myself. I’m going to do modern equipment only like Amtrak and CSX stacks etc;
    Have fun.

    I used a Canon S1 for the video clips. It’s really a digital still camera but has an excellent video mode. The camera also has a manual focus lock that allows the auto focus to remain off so when the trains go by the camera dosen’t seek to find focus.

    The stills were taken with a variety of cameras, some are: Sony R1, Fuji S9100, Canon S1, Nikon D3, D40.

    I found that composition, focus, and camera placement were the most important factors in getting good pictures.
    Thanks

    the NYC cars remind that this one time i went to this hobby shop and they had Lionel trains set up and it was a NYC steam engine pulling Alaska coaches and me and my dad were “you would never see that in real life”

    Although I model in N scale you’ve still provided me with plenty of inspiration for my own model railroad project, and I humbly thank you.

    I like that NYC Berkshire! Could you show a whole overview of the layout? Thanks!

    The catenary is made by MTH. It’s real easy to install and can be powered if you like.
    Thanks

    Most of my train cars are lightly weathered with chalks and sealed with testors dullcoat. I haven’t had the chance to do them all but I would like to.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the encouragement. I’m just a big “kid” that loves model railroading and tried to build a nice layout. After modeling in Z, N, and HO I brought many of the scenery ideas and techniques over to 3 rail. Nothing new, but a first for me. It’s been and still is fun to add scenes and “stuff” to the layout. I’ve since added a road and some cool new trees made from sagebrush. They will be seen in my next video to come soon.
    Thanks
    Cobrabob I appreciate you input.
